Morris Day & The Time

I've been watching quite a bit of VH1 Classics here recently, and one of the groups they've been playing a lot of is Morris Day & The Time. I can understand why this guy was so popular, he is such a hoot!

I think that's one of the elements I miss most about 80's music, so much of it was just about having fun and being goofy. I've learned a lot of good lessons from the music I listen to, and I think the 80's taught me one of the best: You can't always take yourself and the rest of the world so seriously.

In Other News!

I think I have at least one of the kinks in my video editing worked out. I can finally get the video on my computer using Showbiz, but it still won't let me edit it. I'm guessing that it probably is some sort of conflict, but I can't find where that conflict is. The system says everything is fine, but Showbiz keeps shutting down every time I start messing with the video. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it, but it didn't help. Any ideas???

Also, now that I have a video (just a music video) I would like to put it on my website. Do you know how I would go about doing that?

She put pepper in the tomato soup... Why did she put pepper in the tomato soup? Tomato soup is probably one of the most perfect foods availible, all by itself!

You keep asking such hard questions. Can't you give us simpler things to ponder?

I love VH1 Classics. I didn't even know we had it on our cable system until a few months ago. They have it up there on channel 178 - who knew channels went that high?

S'aright, it has me baffled too.

I like tomato soup. I usually eat it plain, but have been known to put a dash of pepper in it for a little more flavor BANG!

I used to love tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches when i was growing up. I can't stand the stuff now. Morris Day and the Time? THat guy annoys me, I enjoy Prince' music much more.

I always felt that Morris Day owed a lot to Kid Creole. Loved the music though. And Fred's right, life isn't the same after you get VH1 Classic.

I figure that, once you got the file on your computer, one of the other programs will help with the editing. I also wonder if you have a lot of extra programs running in the background and/or spyware.

Video editing? What a remorseless task on the PC. I finally got everything working on my PC and my firewire card died on me. Didn't matter too much since the package I was using couldn't splice in a consistent manner. My Apple buddy keeps telling me to buy a Mac, and I just might if I thought it would work.

I like tomato soup over rice :) No added pepper.

Dang Jenn, your blog took a lot out of me. Not that I'm complaining. And I'm only saying it here because I don't want some of those guys over there to know that.

Anyway! I have part of the editing figured out. I was trying to edit MPEG2 files on ShowBiz instead of the recommended AVI files. (Yeah, "recommendation". Why don't they just say that you can't edit MPEG files?) I haven't tried adding sound yet, but I'm able to cut the videos down and then save them as MPEG2 files... (Although I'd really like to get one of those programs that compress them into MPEG4 files. But we'll save that for later.) Now I'm working on how to get them onto a playable DVD.

Are you asleep yet?

You know, I've had VH1 all this time, but I just never watched it. I don't know why, it's much easier to watch while I'm playing on the computer, I just didn't do it.

Now I'm ODing on it, lol. I was actually jonesing for it at work today! Yesterday it was MD&TT, today it's Howard Jones and the Hooters. I'm hopeless, I tell ya!

I saw Morris Day and the Time down here in Vegas for New Years 2000 (Yes, Jerome was there too). They haven't changed a bit - and I loved that. It was a fantastic live show. On the same note, VH1 Classics is a channel I watch all the time. Nothing like the 80's!
